Jaguar Bids Farewell to Combustion Sports Cars with 2024 F-Type ZP Edition

When the Jaguar F-Type made its debut in 2013, it seemed unlikely that it would be the last of its kind in Jaguar’s lineup. The 2024 Jaguar F-Type ZP Edition is here to give a proper farewell to Jaguar’s internal combustion sports cars before the electric era takes over.

This limited-production F-Type is essentially an appearance package available for the coupe or convertible versions. Jaguar enlisted its SV Bespoke group to enhance both the exterior and interior. The package includes two color options, paying homage to the classic E-Type: Oulton Blue Gloss or Crystal Grey Gloss. The blue version features a two-tone interior in red and black, while the gray variant comes with a blue/black combination. These color options have never been offered on the F-Type before.

The design features hand-painted roundels on the doors in bright white, a tribute to the E-Type race cars from 1961. The grille surrounds are also in white, and each F-Type ZP Edition rides on 20-inch wheels with black inserts. The interior features additional black trim and special badging to identify the car as a limited-edition model. Only 150 units of the F-Type ZP Edition will be produced, each marked with a specific production number between 1 and 150.

Under the hood, the F-Type ZP Edition shares its mechanicals with the F-Type R in P575 trim. This means it’s powered by a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 producing 575 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, driving all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds.

Rawdon Glover, Jaguar Managing Director, emphasized the significance of the F-Type’s legacy, mentioning that it has captivated sports car enthusiasts for over a decade, much like the E-type did half a century earlier. He added, “The ZP Edition is the ultimate celebration of that lineage, joining an illustrious roster of heritage-inspired collector’s editions including the 2015 Project 7 and 2020 Heritage 60 Edition.”

Jaguar’s plans for the future are centered around electric vehicles, starting in 2025. Pricing details and the breakdown of coupes versus convertibles for the 2024 F-Type ZP Edition are yet to be announced. The standard 2024 F-Type R P575 begins at $114,275, including a $1,275 destination fee.
